Iraq

For me Iraq is a very controversial country. On one side there always many war happened in there. War happened between the culture areas or with another country. Like in Tuesday there were news that there was a suicide bomb that at least killed 14 people and injured 30 people in Baghdad, It happened because the resistance to Al-Qaeda group. Usually the war that happened is with a near country. Iraq is a country in the Middle East, it shares border with Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to the south, Jordan to the west, Syria to the northwest, Turkey to the north and Iran to the east. For example now there is also a dispute between Iraq and Turkey. In the border of Turkey-Iraq there are Turkey soldiers shooting Iraq citizen.
On the other side I think Iraq is very beautiful and has many different cultures.
The origin of the name “Iraq” has many meaning.Some said that it come from the Sumerian city of Uruk, other said Iraq comes from the Aramaic language, meaning “the land along the banks of the rivers”, another that Iraq refers to the root of a palm tree.
Iraq also has many hitory back to the Mesopotamia. The reagion between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers id identified as the Fertile Crecent, the cradle of civilization, and birthplace of writing. Iraq’s famous instrument called the oud (similar to a lute) and a rebab (similar to a fiddle).
That’s why I think Iraq is a controversial country, because when you see from different side this country can be a very beautiful and historical place or a nightmare with an everlasting war.
